Library Membership

All faculty, staff and students of Nirma University are Library members. Library membership is also extended to

Alumni Membership

All members of Alumni Association of any Institute of the Nirma University can become members of the Library Resource Centre on a request submitted in the prescribed application form along with two latest stamp size photographs.

Alumni Members are issued a Bar-coded Library Membership Card which is required to be shown to the concerned staff while entering the library. They can use the following services any time during library hours:

a)    Reference
b)    Borrowing of two books for fifteen days
c)    Use the library print resources
d)    Photocopying service (on payment basis)

Note: Internet access to electronic resources will not be available.

  • Only books from the lending collection will be issued to the members. Reference books, rare books, journals (current issues and back volumes), reports, theses, CDs, video cassettes will not be issued.
  • Loss of the library card should be reported immediately to the librarian in writing to avoid misuse of the card. A duplicate card will be issued against payment of Rs. 100/-
  • Members should check the materials thoroughly with regard to missing pages, chapters, pictures if any before borrowing and report the damage to the librarian.
  • If any book is lost or damaged by any member, he/she will have to replace the copy. If the book is not available in the market; he/she is required to pay three times the original price. The account in this respect is to be cleared within two weeks from the due date of returning book/s.
  • Misuse of the library resources will lead to the termination of the membership.
  • Members will have to return the borrowed books on time. The overdue charges will be Rs.2/- per day.
  • Change in contact details (address, telephone/mobile number, e-mail ID) should be communicated to the librarian immediately.
  • Members desiring to discontinue their membership can do so by Submitting the written application, returning all books borrowed by them, clearing all dues, if any.
  • The students, faculty and staff of Nirma University will have the first preference to use the library services.
  • Membership is valid for a period of five years and will have to be renewed through any mode of communication i.e. e-mail, written application, etc.

The Nirma University Library offers Corporate Membership to industries, corporate houses and organisations in public and private sector on request submitted in the prescribed application form.

Membership Fee/Deposit

The Corporate Member has to nominate 5 persons and submit their two latest stamp-size photographs and specimen signature. Corporate Member will be allowed to change nominated persons by submitting a written request.
